Goldie's call to the bank (she played Dawn)

Dawn, if the police check the phone records, don't you think it'll look unusual that the call came from YOUR apartment? (modifying a line from Death Becomes Her).

Since they were leaving the country after the robbery, I don't think it mattered. Also the whole point of this robbery was that those they stole from couldn't call the cops because it was their dirty money they took.

Warren Beatty's character did point out the fact about the victims not being able to call the cops. But had caller ID existed, Goldie and/or Warren could have gotten caught before they had a chance to carry out the robbery and/or leave the country. The bank employees would have seen at a glance the number from which Goldie was calling and the cops could have surrounded her apartment. Even if she had line blocking, they have a setup where it won't block the number to banks, the police department, etc. But with no caller ID, it was "We'll try to put a tracer on it to see where the call is coming from." But Goldie's call was finished before they had a chance to trace the number. The chase scenes were so exciting.
