stolen technology ideas

It's great to see some of the technology ideas in this 1960's Ultraman come out many years later in American movies. Those Japanese sure were ahead of Americans.

Such as the chest communication walkie-talkie. That isn't seen again until 1990's Star Trek Next Generation. And the second Science Patrol aircraft in Episode 14 looks identical to the spacecraft Steve Austin flies and crashes in the pilot of the 1970's Six Million Dollar Man.

I also recently read that the series done before this buy the "Ultraman" people, named UltraQ was a big influence on 'The X-files".

I'm just glad they finnally released the DVDs, it had been 25 years, since I'd seen them.

And here I thought the creator of Dick Tracy preceded the idea of the communication device, it certainly is before these UlraMan (I was a fan once) or that the ideas and concepts of science in the science fiction genre precedes the Japanese if that's how I were to 'look' at it from your 'point of view', life on fire.

Dick Tracy's was a TV watch.

There are a lot more similarities between the Science Patrol's radios and ST:TNG combadges. The most notable is where they wear it and that it is actually the insignia on their uniforms.

wetdry: Wow. From your subject heading and the second sentence of your post, it sounds like you're saying that Americans stole actual technological secrets from the Japanese, rather than ideas from a science fiction Kaiju TV series for kids.
