Re-acquainting after many years- disappointed so far

I last saw this show as a young kid in the early 80's. So I forget just about all the episodes.

I recently viewed 2 episodes on the internet, "Dead or Alive" and "The programming of Charlie Blake".

In both cases, the premise or underlying plot, is very interesting. But they both fall apart quickly. The detectives basically know what's going on right away, and don't have to expend much effort in knowing the culprit. For example, in the Charlie Blake episode, the character in question could have committed more crimes, with the cops needing to work to stop him. Then later, after they catch him, realise that he's been brainwashed or manipulated to look guilty.

It would be much better if there was a little mystery, even a twist or turn of events sometimes. I'm hoping for that as I see more episodes!

Sorry to hear you were disappointed. I recently bought the series because of my being a fan of Quinn Martin and Karl Malden. I have enjoyed the episodes and the chemistry between Karl and Michael. Also enjoyed Season 5 with Ricahrd Hatch.

Yeah they are great. I'm watching the series for the first time now. I"m on season 4 and this series is excellent

Yeah, QM made quality shows. Streets of SF was one of the best.
All shows had some real dud episodes. Especially ones that tried to have a social message or tried to be hip to the times. They are cringe worthy to watch years later.
Maybe that is what happened here, just caught a couple duds from a bad writer.
