Season One DVD

I used to like this show alot and just started watching a few episodes.I remembered quite a bit from it and still think it's a decent show.

Georg Stanford Brown is top billed as black officer Terry Webster,it's refreshing to see his character is soft spoken and intelligent and not the usual jive talking stereotype.

Sam Melville is good as married cop Mike Danko,I wonder whatever happened to him? EDIT:I just saw that he had passed away in 1989 of heart failure, sad,he was only 53.

Michael Ontkean is the eager young cop who tries to be understanding,he was also good in the role.

Kate Jackson is Mike's wife, a nurse,I liked her better here than in Charlie's Angels.

Gerald S O Louglin is perfect as the old school Lt Ryker.

There are some good storylines with social comment as well as crime,it was also pretty violent, because I remember when they ran it in syndication a few years ago some violent scenes were cut.

There were also some interesting guest stars like Tyne Daly,Martin Sheen and even Jim Nabors playing a nervous country boy who stalks a singer who he thinks is responsible for his sister's death(I think that one is on the later seasons.
