The Rookies marathon on Decades network

This was a great show! Saw my first episodes this past weekend. I don't remember it from back in the day, but when I was a little kid I liked comedies, not the 1-hour dramas.

The writing and acting was excellent, I thought. What a shame that Sam Melville died so young. By coincidence, I had seen "Big Wednesday" earlier the same week. It's one long 70s binge at my abode.

Well, more correctly, the opening to 'Charlie's Angels' was a lot like 'The Rookies' :-)

Pretty sure both 'Charlie's Angels' co-stars had guest roles on 'The Rookies' with Jackson. Also, was reading the trivia section and was reminded that Sam Melville also played Jackson's ex on 'The Scarecrow and Mrs. King' - fun stuff.

I think you're right, Decades was only running shows from the first two seasons when Michael Ontkean was with the show (hope I have that correct, like I say I am new to this show).

Decades channel is running classic cop show month for November. They just aired The Rookies today and showed a few eps from season 3. Officer Chris Owens was introduced. I wish they would release season 3 and 4.
