Cartoon within a cartoon. Opinions?

What did you guys think of the cartoon shows Fat Albert watched while we watched Fat Albert? Legal eagle and Brown Hornet are two I remember. I remember not liking legal eagle. It went on to long and, if I remember correctly , two squirrels were always getting into trouble. I didn't think it added to the show.

I don't remember the "Legal Eagle" segments. The weird thing with "Brown Hornet": when they first mentioned him, Fat Albert and the gang are reading his comic book and the character was portrayed as a parody of the Green Hornet. When they started doing segments on the show, he was done as a spoof of Superman.

The legal eagle segments came later in the series run. It may have been called "the new adventures" of far albert by that time, but I'm not sure. Probably around 1984 or 85...legal eagle's "thing" was messing up old adages such as "the early bird crosses the road" , or a penny saved is worth two in the bush.

I like the songs better but I am OK with both cartoons. Brown Hornet has the edge slightly because Cosby does the lead voice. Legal Eagle he doesn't seem to be involved with at all. Both are OK and can be funny, but I like it most when the kids get screen time.

Similar to Bart and Lisa watching The Itchy and Scratchy show during The Simpsons. (A mockery of Tom & Jerry).
