Colditz airing on Sky Yesterday channel from October 25th

Hi,

According to DigiGuide and Sky Magazine, 'Colditz' will be airing from Monday October 25th on the Yesterday channel!

This will be the first time it has aired in the UK since around 1993.

Kind Regards.

This is going to age me terribly, but I remember Colditz (can't remember if it was a film or an episode) where a British officer pretended to go insane so he could escape, but actually went insane for real.

There was one part where he had a toy airplane (in his 'insane for real' part), dropped it and a German soldier picked it up & gave it back to him. Made me fall apart, for some reason ...

Does anyone know what it was called & if it's available on DVD?

Hi!

The episode of 'Colditz' you are thinking of is called 'Tweedledum' and will air on the Sky satellite channel 'Yesterday' on Monday 8th November at 10pm. The series is also being released on DVD in November from the BBC.

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much - I will now have to fight with the kids to make sure they don't interrupt my mega-recording of the whole lot!

I did look on here & found out that episode was called "Tweedledum", but thanks for your knowledge, too.

Cheers!

Hopefully they will.

Each episode has a timeslot of 70 minutes and the episodes are listed here as being 50 minutes so take off the ads before, during and after and I think you have the full monty as it were.

If they were trying to squeeze it into a 60 minute timeslot they might have cut it

Ok, so now I have managed to see the Tweedledum episode, but it seems different from the one I saw in my youth ...

I am sure that I remember a moment when the German guard with a brother who had gone insane was about to step on the toy airplane but changed his mind, picked it up and gave it back to the prisoner.

All that happened in the one I just saw was earlier in the episode, the guard stepped on the plane, but made him a new one and then gave the prisoner a hug ...

Has my memory deceived me, or was there a different version where the guard DID give him the plane back in the courtyard after changing his mind about stamping on it?
