Did Howard and Jerry like one another?

It's hard to picture those two as friends. If it wasn't for them both knowing Bob, i doubt they would ever associate with each other. It seems as if Jerry had little patience for Howards naiveness. And the fact that they dated the same woman, that Howard got jealous over his son befriending Jerry, that Howard damaged Jerry's car, and that they both thought of themselves as Bob's best friend, couldn't have helped their relationship any. I wouldn't say they disliked each other, they just tolerated each other.

I think you nailed it. It seemed almost a sibling rivalry for Bob's attention -- Jerry was pretty immature himself. I thought both Howard and Jerry were a riot!

Hi, Bob.

Plus, Jerry would have no tolerance of Howard's constant habit of borrowing things and mooching meals.

I don't think they disliked each other, but they did fight occasionally. One of my favorite Jerry/Howard episodes was the one where Jerry borrowed money from Howard to buy a motorcycle (because Bob wouldn't lend him the money) and the fight that ensued when the two tried to share the bike. The other classic episode was the one where they were fighting over a hockey puck that hit Howard in the head at a Blackhawks game.
