DECADES Screws up BAD

They air the entire 4th season, and SKIP the funniest episode of the entire series. "Over The River And Through The Woods" (The Thanksgiving episode). They are skipping RIGHT OVEr this one episode and I am betting because it shows the horror of three guys getting drunk. FRIGGIN POLITICALLY CORRECT POLICE strikes again.

reply

They also skip holiday episodes a lot (like Me-TV). So that could also explain it. They skipped a Christmas episode in the same season too.

reply

Do they skip it during the normal running order so they can save it to show during the actual holiday, or do they skip it altogether?

reply

It varies. Sometimes the syndication company doesn't include holiday episodes as part of the package (like the I Love Lucy Christmas episode). Sometimes a station or network will omit holiday episodes because it's out of season, even though it may be available. Usually if it's available, stations/networks will air it as part of their regular schedule. Marathon showings (where a large block of a day, weekend, or week are devoted to running only one show) will skip around a bit, with no explanation given.

reply

Well, Me-tv just aired this episode last night but that may just be because Thanksgiving is this week! :)

Sometimes a network only can show each episode a certain number of times. If they took it out to show it for a marathon or special broadcast, they need to take it out of regular rotation for its next scheduled run.

reply

You bet wrong. Nobody cares about guys getting drunk. It's a holiday episode which is not part of the syndication package. Right now I'm watching Bob get his tonsils out on Christmas Eve on MeTV. They don't normally show this one either except around Christmas. Chill out with your wackadoo accusations.

The people you idolize wouldn't like you.

reply

Not all of the seasons are available on Hulu. There is also the common problem of rights with producers, stars, and other reasons.

You ought to try Sundance, since they showing all the episodes (Even the holiday ones) on weekday mornings!!!

reply

I've been watching Bob Newhart on Sundance, and I was disappointed when they didn't show Over the River and Through the Woods around Thanksgiving, but they ended up showing it right after Christmas. And I love that Sundance schedules each show for 35 minutes so they don't have to cut anything out.
