S02e02 was brutally chauvinistic

more than any other episode I've watched - it bordered on misogyny. No opportunity was missed to put women in their place, no cliche unused. Amazing in its own way, but sure spoiled the "fantasizing I was him" part of enjoying the show. The whole episode was pretty lame writing in fact, almost a self-parody.

"Max" made you feel that way? I'd think it was a drop in the bucket compared to some other episodes.

e.g.

"When you're good at something, never do it for free."

Some of that -- maybe even most of that -- may be due to the PC minefield we have set for ourselves here in the 21st century, where words/phrases/expressions that barely rated a second look in the 70s and 80s are now racist or sexist or bigoted or homophobic or xenophobic or Islamophoic, etc etc.

Who knew it would come to this? I sure didn't. Did you? And now that it has, do you care? Or are you in the camp that insists that "Political Correctness" is just another way of saying "Good manners"?

(It's not)

The show ran in the early 70's, douche. It was a different time.
