I remember seeing this movie in Manhattan when I was a teenager. It really moved me and remember... these were times when you watched a movie ONCE... no VHS, no DVD... One time and it has haunted me all my life.
I am 50 now and have searched high and low for a copy.
Is there no place I can order a copy?
I can read French so if there is a French Website, I can handle it...so far as they can handle US currency.

There is both an amazon and an ebay site on the French internet: www.amazon.fr and ebay.fr. Try both of those. It's just a thought! Get creative! For all I know, they might even have a Netflix.fr, which would then allow you just to RENT the darned thing, instead of coughing up the big bucks for the flick.
I hope you have invested in a "code-free" DVD player. As you probably know, all films pressed on DVD for release in North America are rated "1," all those for release in northern Europe, "2," etc. Each world area has its own number. The "code-free" DVD player allows one to view DVDs that are from anywhere in the world, no matter what area code they carry. These players are available all over the internet for about $80. If you speak French, you NEED one of these machines, so you can rent and buy movies from the French internet sites!
