DVD?

It`s often forgotten that Britain was subjected to air-attacks during WW1; initially by the Zeppelin & later by the Gotha heavy bombers. This film deals with the former in a pretty decent espionage tale with quite good action seqences, espescially the aerial battle,& convincing effects(for the time & budget)-Elke Sommer looks pretty convincing too!As a reviewer pointed out I can`t think of too many films which cover this aspect of WW1 apart from a Gotha bomber attack in "Goodbye Mr Chips".Does anyone know of any other-maybe a film made in the 20/30`s?Go to century-of-flight.freeola.com for some more info.

Nice to see this on BBC2 the other day but even nicer if we had a DVD release-nothing in the U.K. yet but has it been released anywhere else?

I juse tried to get this flick on DVD...but Amazon only has it in used VHS. This is a great movie and I do not know why they do not offer in in DVD. There are some very STUPID movies re-released on DVD but this classic is not. I do not understand.

Tell me: was the film in its OAR (Original aspect ratio)? Also, did you, by chance, record it?

EDIT:

Also, don't any one fret --- you can download the film as a torrent. Someone who actually had a DVD (it was released only in Spain) and ripped it (Apparently, on eMule, there's also an Italian version of it). It also, apparently, has the OAR of the film which is 2.35:1.

I Might download it later, but I have to learn to rip a VHS so I can rip the audio (apparently it's a PAL copy of it).

Spanish dvd has English audio and 2.35:1 non-anamorphic image which is slightly soft but still better than anything I`ve seen on TV including recent screenings on ITV and TCM.Slight downside is that there`s some missing footage(approx 3 mins) when York beds the spy and finds out more about his German family.Pictures from this scene are even featured on the back of the dvd cover but definitely not in this version.

Did you just say that TCM has screened it?! When, WHEN?
