Best performance in the film IMO as Veruca Salt. She really stands out from the pack of kids and nails her big, show-stopping number 'I Want it Now' - one of the most hateful movie kids ever, and she knocks it out of the park. In my alternative universe she would have been a supporting actress nominee for the film.
shareIt was interesting, hearing her interview on the DVD. She grew up to be a pretty lady. She said that while they were filming "I want it now," the director kept goading her, telling her to be meaner and nastier, making the actress truly get angry and take out her frustration on the set for real. She also said that when she was standing over the trapdoor, they told her she had to keep her arms close to her sides so she could fall smoothly in.
