The best part of this movie is the scene shot inside Fillmore East. Although the band onstage was Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show, the crowd was really there to see the Grateful Dead. The Dead were in the middle of a four night run at Fillmore East.

Jimi Hendrix died the day the Fillmore footage was shot.

Led Zeppelin would be playing up at Madison Square Garden the next night on the 19th.

I was in that audience, but I've never seen the movie, strangely.
