I always wondered why the ad campaign for this film, ie newspaper ads, tv commercials, etc. always gave away the ending. You went into the theater knowing already what was going to happen. I think the ending would have been alot more shocking if this was not done. Any ideas?

My guess is they just used it to lure people into the theatre--they couldn't care less if it runied the movie. I saw it on VHS ages ago (with a different poster) and the ending shocked the hell out of me:)
