a bunch of a-holes sit around and act like d*cks

That should be the title of the film. I like some of RWF's later work but his early films are hard to sit through. Nihilism mixed with misanthropy, joylessness and put at a distance. I like Herzog and Wenders but I don't get RWF. Had a bad childhood and was some brooding German intellectual, bad combo. Goddard's later films are just as bad. We get the point in 5 minutes, make short films rather than bore us for an hour and 40 minutes. If this is based on how his films were actually made, his sets must have been awful.

Why is that one dude crying all over the place in the first scene?

Why is the receptionist hanging over the counter as if dead?

Why is the Italian guy berating the Germans for being racist when they didn't say anything racist and then is making out with a German chick a minute later?

Plenty of better movies about making movies out there.
