Fantastic film

This is an under-rated masterpiece. Burton's on top form, the cast are brilliant and the script and locations are superb.

'He'dve done it himself - hed've enjoyed it'

'Worth a peek, Vic'

'He's losing a lot of claret'

The movie is pure class. The language is or was so often used in things such as The Sweeney to even Lock, Stock. But it also reminds us of how good we can make a gangster film without all the blood and guts.

I have just watched this film for the first time. I thought it was an excellent crime film, well written and acted by all concerned. I have always liked Richard Burton but sometimes his performances have been way over the top, but IMO, he played the part of a Villain very well indeed. BTW, interesting to see parts of London that I remember from that era.

I thought it was good, nothing special in the same league as Get Carter or The Long Good Friday, but a good, solid flick none the less.

7/10

and now london 2012 is crammed with members of the eastern block (russians, bulgarians, rumanians, latvians, cossovans, ukranians, etc, etc).

OH HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!!

My sentiments exactly. Got to be honest here. Classics don't usually arise from critical and commercial flops, as this was at the time.🐭
