Didn't see the cross?? (SPOILER)

I'm having a hard time believing that Lalla Ward's vampire bird girl chick didn't see the big five foot tall cross in the chapel until Dora puts her hands on it prior to pushing it over. She stands right next to it for a good spell with Lalla just sort of smiling. Good thing it was there but you think she would have seen it a little sooner, since it's a cross and all.
