shareI kept waiting for something to happen...and it didn't! Not that I care for that sort of stuff, but we didn't even really see much of the drag racing on which they were both supposed to be hung up.
As a 70's road movie give me Easy Rider, Vanishing Point or Electra Glide in Blue any day over this dross.
I agree with the op in certain ways. However, for some reason it was so boring and dull in most parts that it was captivating and I couldn't stop watching it. It wasn't boring in a way that made me wanna turn it off, and it was different to most films being about pace and plot etc... But the ending ruined it... As watchable as I found it and somehow stayed in it, the ending killed it and I felt cheated, because the film seemed like it was going somewhere and left every question open. Like who won the race between the 55 and gto? It just felt empty and unfinished. I see a lot of topics here discussing that ending, but it left me unsatisfied and never wanting to see it ever again.
shareExcuse me, midnight_cinephile, I enjoyed TLB as I'm sure you did, and I also think Robocop (1987) is a pretty good movie and a sci-fi classic. What I mean is that liking Robocop does not mean you cannot appreciate a film such as TLB, nor is it a sign of bad taste in movies. And I'm not by any means deffending the view of the OP, just deffending the honor of the Robocop! The same, to a lesser extent, goes for Predator. Cheers
