if you want to see this movie ...

I was surprised by the absolutely gorgeous DVD-R widescreen transfer of this 1971 title from Sinister Cinema. Often Sinister Cinema has to deal with rare, scratchy prints to transfer to videotape or DVD-R, but this title is nearly flawless, at least to my untrained (and movie-weary) eyes. The film itself is only an OK "Edgar Wallace" tale, dubbed in English, with a few topless scenes, and the original German title onscreen, "Die Tote aus der Themse." The film is listed in the Sinister Cinema catalog under its English title, "The Dead One in the Thames River," which is also on the DVD-R case but nowhere onscreen. Certainly one of the most attractive Sinister Cinema titles.
