Pretentious film school equivalent drivel

Pretentious film school equivalent drivel for hippie era and those who never got beyond the "magic" of Carlos Castaneda as their pseudo intellectual foundation. Sado-masochistic pabulum disguised as a deep religious film for those who probably specialize in vampires and zombies today. What a POS!

This post contains just as much "pretentious film school equivalent drivel" as El Topo.

Because, you know, bashing an arthouse classic anonymously on the internet really counts as a "valid argument"...

I do not care for trolls. I ignore them. They mean nothing and have no place here.

Having watched these alleged masterpieces, I don't think OP is a troll.

Some people can say 'That wasn't my cup of tea'.

Others insult with big words to prove how much book-learnin they done.

I found this movie entertaining, and even if I didn't it wouldn't be worth the time to be a jerk about it.

You're dead wrong if you believe films are solely made for the purpose of entertainment. That's like saying that art is meant solely to be placed on a wall.

El Topo was fairly interesting in a handful of parts; about a solid 2.5 on a 10 star scale. I too found it a pretentious 1970s flop that tried endlessly to be artsy and failed. Maybe because I speak Spanish and the language is completely demystified and subtitles unnecessary, but the dialogue was, of course, horrible but forgivable as this is almost purely an visual/art film.

Additionally, I'm amused that you and the other guy actually believe that the words "equivalent", "pretentious", and "drivel" are big words. In the near future, I would highly recommend a book rather than subtitles are your primary source of reading material.

Slow down there buddy, I can't grasp what you're talking about when you use all those fancy book-learnin words.

(I wouldn't be so quick to assume that others haven't read very many books just from reading an internet post.)

I read more books than any person I've met IRL. From Robert A. Heinlein to Mark Twain, Ayn Rand to H.P. Lovecraft, Louis L'Amour to R.A. Lafferty, The Upanishads and Tao Te Ching to Terry Pratchett, Edgar Allen Poe to Margaret Atwood, Alan Watts to Friedrich Nietzsche to Carl Jung (C.G. Jung) ... Name a genre and I've given it a go.

I simply thought the OPs post was dumb and at the time made the post I thought was appropriate.

No chance your mind is too small to pick up what the movie is about. Nawwww, not a chance of that. Humans rule!!!!!!!!
