are there more movies like this out there? i know about "bubba ho-tep" where
bruce campbell thinks he's evlis.. and "mister lonely" where the guy thinks he's michael jackson.. are there more?

Oh, excellent choice!

You might also check out "Gumshoe," with Albert Finney. While not actually believing he's a 1940s hardboiled private eye, Finney's character desperately wants to be one, evne though he's in early 1970s Liverpool. A great little film about holding onto childhood dreams, and the point at which those dreams begin holding onto you ... perhaps more than is good for you.
