Spit or Scratch? Intentional?

The punk spits in the kid's hand. It looks like a film scratch. I've seen this on every copy of the film over the years. Is the scratch an oddly-fortuitous accident done to the film, or was it an intentional scratch put in, to accentuate the spit? *LOL*

Looks accidental to me. If it was an intentional visual effect I think they would have done something slightly better than a randomly shaped blob on one single frame.

Yeah, most likely it's an accident. Just the odds that it occurs in that one moment (and frame-area) of the film is crazy.
