So this Guy is just going to rape Lynnn? He has a creepy vibe from the beginning but then he just goes after her, enters her hotel room and takes his pants off immediately? That was shocking I didn't find it funny at all. It freaked me out.

They were both men at a convention, they even mention it. Men at conventions never take no for an answer. It is a comment on swinging life back then and a really confused drunk guy who was after one thing ...that happens all the time nowadays. Not so shocking. Take a pill.
Totally agree (except for the "take a pill" part). Hard to believe or accept now, but adults simply did that in those days.
