Daniel's suntan (goof)

Anyone notice how, suddenly, in the middle of the film, Daniel has a deep, South of France suntan.

reply

Yes, but hadn't he and Bob been away "on the Continent" supposedly??

reply

When did you last actually watch the film?

No, they never actually went away, that's why Daniel was so disappointed when Bob decided to go to America.

reply

Must be 2 years + since I watched the film.

I do recall they were planning the trip to Italy (which Bob seemed keen about at the time, unless that was another of his insincerities with Daniel & Alex),but also felt it was once mentioned, in passing, that Dr Hirsch had once taken Bob off to the sun in Europe, but perhaps not after all! The ending of course was Daniel sitting alone at home trying to learn Italian, and facing a vacation 'tout seul'.

reply

Well, maybe it's time you gave it another gander.

reply

I'm re-watching it now, and I don't see that. In the very 1st shot, as Daniel palpates his patient's belly, we see that his skin is much darker than that of his patient. Similarly, when Daniel and Bob kiss in the kitchen, we see that Daniel's skin is several shades darker than Bob's. I think Finch was a consistent color thruout, either bc he'd gotten tan before production or bc he's naturally darker (like Southern European or Mediterranean people).
