I think it is worth watching, as it di\oes a fairly good job of capturing the mood of its times, and the uncertainty of many young men facing the prospect of being drafted. But more than that, it's about coming of age, discovering real love (and all of its coplications) for the first time, trying to make sense out of your life, trying to figure out what you want to be & where you want to go with your life. The acting is very good, the characters are given some depth rather than simply being cardboard cutouts for Rebellious Youth & Rigid Adult, and the story has gemnuine tragedy --one that's been repeated many times in real life .

It's hard to find many films from the late 1960s/early 1970s that really recreate what it felt like then, but this one definitely among the more successful of them. A strong story, well-told, which both illuminates a particular point in American history & also has more timeless applications as well.
