UnAmerican Activiites

No matter which way you cut it my friends --this woman having sex with the kid right after learning of her husband being killed in action is not only disgustingly promiscuous but also alarmingly unpatriotic. Talk about lack of loyalty to family and country! I mean she could have waited at least until the body was cold. I mean her husband's body. The hero went out and risked and lost his life for his country and this two-bit no good loose rotten tramp cared so little for his sacrifice that she soiled his memory forever by jumping on the first big eared teenage punk who chanced her way.

And what about Hermie? He knew the circumstances but he had no problem in banging this dead soldier's fine wife. So much for the old red white and blue. They both should have done some jail time for engaging in a sexual romp on the grave of that fine airman. He could have given her a hug and maybe even copped a feel --but it should have went no further than that. He should have just offered his condolences and then bugged out of there to go relieve himself in an orgy of self-abuse. (That's what I would have done!)

If you think that I am over-reacting you need to get your shaky moral compasses overhauled and put this into the context of the Afghan War. What if the soldier's wife down the street --on getting the news that her husband had just been killed by an IED celebrated the first hours of her widowhood by humping the Papa John's delviery boy/ Would you think that was a dreamy heartfelt human, natural action or would you think it was pure Jerry Springer slimey? It's the same thing --different wars but the same principle.

This was funny, I gotta admit.

Girlfriend, we've all heard this rant before...except for your "unpatriotic" angle. That's an absolute hoot!

Humping and jumping. Sounds pretty American to me.

As for humping the Papa John's delivery boy. Well, its been awhile since I've seen this movie, but I don't think this was the first time Hermie had stopped by. So its not quite the same thing and would probably be wrong, what with the delivery boy being a complete stranger.

Now if the distraught widow was to hump the boy that had been mowing her lawn for a full summer, and which she had coffee (or some other non-alcholic beverage) and conversation, that would be different and as Patriotic as can be.

Clearly it would have been wrong (and therefore un-patriotic) had she just found out her husband/war hero was a POW- or disfigured for life- and used that news to jump on the first big eared teenage punk that wandered by (although as I pointed out there was a 'history' with Hermie that is being overlooked in the OP). Her husband was dead, do you expect her to spend her entire life grieving? Besides Hermie was sixteen or so, that's maybe ten minutes of humping/jumping (unless Hermie was some kind of superman) and then she's back to grieving over her dead war hero husband. All people handle grief differently, some cry, some get angry, some get real quiet, some get drunk, some get into fights. She chose to have sex with an underage boy. Sounds to me like she was expressing personal freedom and there is nothing more American than freedom.

If this were to happen today and someone as attractive as Jennifer O'Neill were to do this she would be splashed across TMZ and Yahoo and who knows what else. And that would still be patriotic because the only thing more American than consumerism and making money is Freedom.

Now if the woman were a fugly. No one would know, because really who wants to read that story and see those pictures.

BTW- orgy of self abuse- classic!!

Hermie helped Dorothy by carrying groceries.

I assume you're using "carrying groceries" as a euphemism.
