Did Louis Malle's mother live to see this film?
I've always wondered how he would have explained to her why he ended his semi-autobiography that way.

I'm very familiar with that article and its sources. None of them mention Malle's real life mother's reaction to the film.
shareWell, all I can give you is my vague recollection of reading that Malle's mother requested that he state publicly that the incest was non-biographical. Maybe you can find that reference. And I don't even recall if that was on the Internet. In fact, it may have been before the Internet.
