Snow goose is not going to be released yet!

I have searched for this on Video or DVD for many many years. I have contacted most suppliers without any luck. The best I can find is that it is being held by Hallmark but the Gallico family is not allowing the film to be released. I have tried lobbying Hallmark and the BBC who originally made The Snow Goose as yet I've had no luck.
The best way I think is to keep sending them correspondence and hope we can break them down!

hi crimblecorner,
in my school we read The Snow Goose. we thought it would be neat to write a persuasive letter to the Gallico family, kind of like your idea...to get them to release the movie. i need information on why it was cancelled and if possible, the Gallico's address. if you have any of this information or know where i might find some...please feel free to e-mail me @ [email protected], or to write me back on this message board!

Hi - I emailed the BBC recently as it was a BBC / Hallmark Co-Production. I have just received this reply...

Thank you for your e-mail regarding 'The Snow Goose'. I am pleased to read of your interest in this film.

As far as I am aware, the BBC still owns the rights to this film. It was last shown Tuesday 28 December 1971 on BBC TWO. While, there are no plans at present to repeat it on the BBC terrestrial or digital channels, I will certainly register your interest for the attention of our schedulers.

Also, a video or DVD is not commercially available for this programme and for copyright, contractual reasons we are unable to provide a one-off copy. For future reference, if you want to buy or track down a copy of a BBC programme, you may find the following website useful

...so not great news about getting a copy or seeing it any time soon. Just that it still exists and the BBC have the right to show it.

We dream in hope to see this little gem again on television or DVD.

I am seeking a copy of the 1971 Hallmark Hall Of Fame made for television drama, "THE SNOW GOOSE," starring Richard Harris. Please contact me at [email protected] if you have a copy or know where a copy may be obtained.

Hallmark no longer have the rights to The Snow Goose. I believe they may now be with Universal as a remake has been on the cards since 2000/2001. Originally planned fro Antonio Banderas, the remake looks like it will Have Billy Connolly in it and Jenny Agutter again, presumable as the mother this time.

Well if a remake gets shown, then there's every chance the original will resurface around the same time too.

I'd love to see this film, because i've seen most of Jenny Agutter's movies and most are beautiful just like her, so this is something I look forward to seeing too.
