Great true Widescreen transfer for new Warner Archive DVD
Just finished watching it yesterday.
Great to finally see it the way it was shot, in 2.35:1 Widescreen, as opposed to the original official VHS which is a cropped Pan and Scan 4:3
The transfer isn't 100% perfect on this new DVD, with a couple film imperfections throughout, but who cares. It looks great overall!
The only issue I have is the fact that these official Warner Archive DVD's are 'On-Demand' - so they're burned as orders come in. Full color cover and disc label, in a regular DVD case, but the disc label is not crystal clear though, and the fact that it IS a DVD-r make it more susceptable to scratches and scuffs. A LOT more delicate than regular silver pressed discs.
As for the movie, both Garner and Gossett are great as usual. Great movie, with great performances. Susan Clark was very good.
