The problem with the movie is for the most part the pacing. It wasn't a problem in the early 70's when it was made. I remember watching it back then and wasn't bored silly... however times have changed and people have been conditioned by faster paced shows and a large increase in the edits per minute to the point that the movie is very dated in that respect. I tried to rewatch it about 5 months ago with my kid that had never watched it... and they found it very boring... I was so bored that I stopped and did something else while they finished it. It was a movie I should have never rewatched because my memories of it when I first saw were better than rewatching it and just being bored silly by the slow pacing.

shareWhat a slow ass movie! My god. It's like the movie was trying to SAY something to me, rather than simply let my mind shut down and watch pretty lights and explosions. Dagnabbit! When I watch a movie, it is ALL about the payoff at the end. I don't care about the "journey" getting there. I care about the destination!
It's like sitting through "The Godfather" with all their talking and communicating and dealings. Where the hell is the Mafia in that? People get whacked in the mob, right? Three friggin' hours of practically nothing! Hah! and people call it a great movie just because these movies share ideas and talk and try to be all introspectivey.
I'd give anything for Maximus Primo or the Power Rangers to just show up and lay them all to waste. Then at least it would be worth watching! Sitting through movies like this is like going to school or something. Why would anyone want to go to a movie to think about stuff?
