This Happen to Anybody Else?

Thing is I grew up in the 70's. Was vaguely aware of the movie, I mean I've heard of it, but wasn't that aware until I came of age into my teens in the 80's & as a young man in the 90's. Always knew the song without a doubt, ever since my childhood.

In all that time i never seen this until God knows when I finally saw this but for all the talk about it, when I finally saw this I fell asleep watching it. Was expecting "Oh wow! This is good! A legend of a film" & instead like I said I fell asleep watching this.

Guess the "mythos" regarding this was way better than the movie ever was. Oh well now that I've seen it , put it under my belt & carry on, but it certainly was no big deal. Can't be the ONLY one thats had this experience. Anyone else?

It's a common response to older movies like this that you have never seen, but know them by reputation. With the passage of time, they lose a lot of what made them edgy etc back in the day.

I think the two movies that are singled out the most in the 'I dont understand what all the fuss was about' category are The Godfather and The Exorcist.
