Claire Bloom had a katana, right?

The only scene I remember is the one with Claire Bloom wearing a sheer black or dark blue negligee and she was fingering a katana. Since she was a psychiatrist in this film, that was supposed to imply castration or the male fear of it which manifested itself in the lead male character as a fear of beheading. Did she also have a collection of shrunken heads? I was very young at the time so the movie was a bit over my head.

don't recall seeing a collection of shrunken heads, but she had a Japanese sword in a few scenes yes.
And you watched this movie when you were "very young"? it's not really a kids' movie, now is it??

Was 19 and considering my cultural and family background, I was considered very young then.

oh...not exactly what I'd call young, 19 is age of majority. But so be it...

The age of majority then was 21, at least where I was at the time.
