Any good?

I'm a huge fan of the avengers and recently wrote to Brian Clemens. He recommended this film as one of his best, but i have been unable to track a copy down. Simply put; is it any good?

I remembered this film to be very good when I first saw it. It was well acted and very chilling. However, after viewing the recent dvd release, I found it to be rather dated. It is definitely worth watching, however. You can find copies of the VHS and DVD on Ebay all the time. It is also available new through Amazon.

I saw it on holiday last year. To put it in context, it was on the only English speaking channel available, so there was nothing else to watch. It does look a bit dated, and has a made for TV feel about it (I would liken it to the Hammer House Of Horror TV series in terms of production quality). That said, it does have a certain charm. The story, which is strong enough in itself, bounces along nicely, and I liked how the viewer is shown developments that the blind girl can't see. This allows for quite a few suspenseful moments. Mia Farrow carries off the blind role passably enough, however is she of sufficient star quality to carry a whole film, as most of the action is centred around her.

I'd say it's worth a watch, probably worth buying if your a fan and if you find it in the sale section.

I've seen this happen in other peoples lives and now it's happening in mine.

I remember buying this vhs around the same time I started watching Thriller, and It is so worth watching, its outstanding, there are scenes that make you quiver because they are generally eerie and suspenseful. Its great because it is so Brian Clemens the writing is brilliant I advise you watch it. It's great.

Of course it's good. Not really a slasher flick but it has a lot of suspenseful and tense moments. Excellent acting by Mia Farrow.

Not that I support remakes, but this movie is highly underrated and it's script deserves some recognition in these days; I wouldn't mind a WELL DONE not commercial remake.

It is good, although it's been a long time since I've seen it. It's tame, I'm sure, due to similar genre now, and the time period is dated, but it's still dark and creepy. I was so young when I saw it, but I remember Mia Farrow particularly as a very good, vulnerable character. I remember the mud scene, when she is completely lost and does not know where she is, being blind. I would recommend it. It represents and exploits the vulnerability of her blindness and that makes it scary.

I've seen this movie more than a few time. I'll never forget the first time I saw it. As a young teen I loved the abundance of longish hair foxy guys, the English countryside and her vunerability and those trying to protect her.

It also is a good suspense movie.

Good film, including the music.

Yeh, but Paul Nicholas!??

reply

I'd never heard of Paul Nicholas until his appearance as Jacko in Blind Terror, so he seemed fine for the role.
I saw him later in Just Good Friends, which I enjoyed. But being too young to've seen them when they were originally aired, I discovered them all in the 1990s.
Also, being as Nicholas was only given a few words to say in Blind Terror, for a creepy effect, maybe they could've casted anyone for that role and made it work.

It's an effective slow burn thriller but it's chock full of cliches & Clemens' script loses steam rapidly once it maroons Farrow's character in a clay pit.

I usually like movies like this but I didn't really enjoy this. It was really, really slow to start and about halfway threw I stopped watching it because it was not scary at all, and from the start I knew what was going to happen.

I thought the acting was great but for me the terrible ending ruined it. I was really on the edge of my seat but the ending was a total let down.

More, more, more! How do you like it? How do you like it?
