Recent one day exhibition in Mexico

I have read about Sacco and Vanzetti quite long ago. I became curious about this issue when I first heard "Here I am", the quasi-hymn composed by Ennio Morricone with Joan Baez in vocals. I was terribly turn on by that song and I needed to know where does it come from. Who were Sacco and Vanzetti that "rest forever here in our hearts". Maybe I looked for the movie 10 years. It wasn't available in Videoclubs (no one has heard about it!. I tried in Amazon, but it isn't in stock (till now).

I was very surprised when the Mexican National Cineteca exhibited it last week, among other films, in a one month special exhibition of classical italian movies.

I was very moved by the film, although I have already known the story. But I was extremely touched when at the end of this 35 mm version, people in the auditorium stand up and began to clap!! It is a very strange thing in Mexico that after a film has come to an end people stand up and clap. Well it's odd in these days. And it's a 1969 film!. In a 35 mm version!!

Definitively, it's the power of the story. I was thinking why Criterion Collection has not turned its view to this film. It would be a major thing to restore it.

Finally I have seen it!

I saw the film in South America a few years after it was released and never again.
From what I remember, films can be proposed to be added to the Criterion Collection. Just access their webpage and request it, then they will consider. I'd love to see this film be released in the US too. I'll request it from Criterion as well. Please everyone who supports the film, do the same.
