Beauty, Beautiful, And Stylish
Delphine had the cute kind of beauty that is the rarest. Americans can't make movies this stylish, only Europeans.

shareThis is definitely one of the great vampire movies, because it has rare psychological depth and author ambitions. And Delphine will always be the sexiest, greatest screen vampire ever as far as I'm concerned. Kuhmel's "Malpertius" is also interesting and innovative. I always like his choice of niche stars of arthouse cinema: Delphine in this and Michel Bouquet in "Malpertius". If "Daughters of Darkness" was a hammer movie, someone like Ingrid Pitt would have played Bathory. And Bouquet's role in "Malpertius" would have been played by one of those abortive leading men of British cinema turned into subpar character actors, like Francis Matthews or Gerald Harper..
shareYes, it was very artistic and is the kind of horror film that even the snobbiest critic could enjoy. It isn't a horror film, really. It is a dark drama with supernatural elements and I enjoyed it very much. It is a bizarre film unlike any other I've seen but it is very good.
I've been waiting for you, Ben.
Delphine Seyrig's beauty was classic, it harkened back to the beauties of the past like Dietrich, Garbo, Michele Morgan. As for Americans making stylish pictures, try Mulholland Drive. David Lynch outshines the more modest talent of Kumel.
shareSpeaking of stylish, did anyone else notice those cool sunglasses Stefan was wearing in Bruges. Truly something to behold.🐭
shareI re-watched this again last evening, and it only just occurred to me that Delphine Seyrig reminded me so very much of the gorgeous Eleanor Parker. The blonde hair, the make-up, and even the sound of her voice, was quite evocative of Eleanor.
Andrea Rau was beautiful too, especially with her dark hair cut into that short bob.
Mmmmmmmmmm
