Andre Delvaux's masterpiece

Andre Delvaux was probably Belgium's greatest film director, and "Rendezvous a Bray" is his finest achievement. It's a beautifully paced enigmatic film, subtly dreamlike and as intricate as lace. Anna Karina gives a masterfully calibrated performance as the mysterious housekeeper. Her beauty deepens the film's wonderfuly strangeness. Karina would be reunited with Delvaux one last time in "The Abyss", in a role that echoes her servant in "Rendezvous a Bray".
