shareWhy was it necessary to bring up that man's name for this movie?! At least these people spelled it correctly instead of going for a "cutesy" misspelling.
I'm watching this on TCM after not having seen it for a number of years and am enjoying it at least as much as I did waaaaay back when I saw it in the theater. Yep! I'm that old!

Personally, as much as I admired that movie, I think it's kind of gross that a Will Smith movie stole (albeit replaced the letter "i" with "y") the same title of a classic movie such as this. I can just picture Robert Mulligan scoffing when he heard they were going to do such a thing, and I bet he's still spinning in his grave over that atrocity even as we speak.
"What I don't understand is how we're going to stay alive this winter."
