This movie is really twisted, but the ending turns out cool

I was sickend by most of the movie which seemed to be an excuse for soft porn with big stars. The ending is only thing I thought that was somewhat interesting and different.

I saw it at the Grindhouse Fest, too, but loved it for all of its inconsistencies and weirdness. Plus, Telly was great ... and how could you not love Angie Dickinson in this?

Even the ending is given away by the tagline of the film poster.

Its that man again!!

The sexual titillation via Angie Dickinson is the only thing this movie has going for it. The ending is what is absolutely sick -- Rock Hudson's little protege, surviving a murder attempt by Rock, claims instead that Rock saved his life before he drowned and the serial murderer becomes the school hero. Rock's body is never found and it is implied that he escapes to Brazil, pursued by detective Telly Savalas. And, presumably inheriting his local franchise, little apprentice Ponce is left to seduce (and murder?) all the pretty maids left behind.

This is really an immature sex-murder fantasy and runs like it was imagined by a jock with what little brain he had in his cock. So much for director Vadim.

Gotta agree. I couldn't even get all the way THROUGH the darn thing.

Agree. I sought this out because I just read, what turned out to be, a trashy biography of Rock Hudson. I couldn't believe how awful this film was. Even by 1971 standards, it was pretty bad! I don't get all the praise for it.

"Even by 1971 standards, it was pretty bad!" What's wrong with 1971 standards?
