I am looking for a certain animated movie, but i have no idea where to start so i guess i am starting here. my brother and i saw this movie in the early 80's and have recently been searching for it.

it was a rental from one of those hole-in-the-wall rental stores and probably a made-for-tv movie.

the basic plot from what we can remember is there is this king and he 'loses' his shadow. his shadow basically becomes a separate living entity, maybe even his rival. does this ring a bell for anyone? i wish i could remember more details but this was so long ago. we saw it around the same time we rented The Point from a video store. any help would be greatly appreciated.
