Well...I guess you had to be there...

I have just picked up "The Point" DVD and am looking forward to showing it to my kids over the weekend. It was one of the high points of Brother Rice's (Chicago)storied Junior Religion class (actually, the best high school class I ever attended.) But I will admit that I have a profound feeling that it just won't be as good as it was over thirty years ago. The "psychedelic" animation style and the music are really more of that time than all time. But, boy, wasn't that a time? It will be interesting to see how well it holds up.

Well, I used to watch it as a kid in the early 90s and it was one of my favourites. I was so sad when my vhs tape got so worn from watching that it refused to work... I picked up the dvd a few years ago and I still love it!

Hopefully kids can get the message behind it, along with liking the animation. :)

I watched this baby all the time in the 80's. It was such a classic. I think young kids could still get into it today!

Oh, it definitely holds up. I've watched it repeatedly ever since I was little and it still hasn't gotten old. Several friends have watched it with me, and they've all been just as impressed as I am.

Applesauce, bitch!

I saw this for the first time in 2000 in my seventh grade art class. I liked the film and it has stayed with me over the years. I still hum "Me and My Arrow" every now and then.

For those who remember the early '70s, this film holds up completely. For younger people who care about whimsical pop music and imaginative, humane animation unencumbered by software, this still has plenty of appeal. 8/10 stars from me.

I was a little over 3 1/2 years old when this first aired on ABC (was living in Phoenix at the time)...I cannot freaking believe that I remember that far back!
I guess my Mom made a "point" of ensuring that I would watch it ;)
