Now Available on DVD!

POINT OF TERROR has been available on DVD from Rhino Home Entertainment since October 2004 as part of their "Horrible Horrors" collection of films. These are great bargains, since each "collection" or "volume" contains eight films total, four per DVD (two films on each side). POINT OF TERROR is sided with TWISTED BRAIN (aka HORROR HIGH), one of the better "horror" excursions in that particular set. For the price, these Rhino "horror" collections (not all horror movies, but all horrible movies!) are worth the cash in rental or purchase.

I picked up the Horrible Horrors on ebay and am currently watching POINT OF TERROR. Man! I was expecting the worst, but between Dyanne Thorne (sp?) and the dialogue, I'm loving it! the scene where she treats her crippled cuckold husband like a bull..awesome! Classic Tom Jones impression as well. I also am seeing some borrowed italian-giallo style camera shots, well appreciated.

There is a better DVD coming from Scorpion Releasing, in August or September of 2010. It will probably be letterboxed and may have a supplement or two.

It's also available on the Pure Terror box set from Mill Creek Entertainment.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

I got that HORRIBLE HORRORS Volume 1 set, and POINT OF TERROR is probably one of the better films in it.

For those who have the Scorpion Releasing DVD: Did it seem like the picture was unnaturally dark much of the time? Much of the lighting just seemed "off" to me, and I'm not sure if that's how this was filmed or the result of the DVD re-release.

As for the movie, it's not particularly suspenseful or even interesting, but Peter Carpenter gives a killer performance, the fashions and set design are a lot of fun, and the songs are quite catchy. Better learn to love them, because they repeat constantly in the film. 6/10 stars from me for entertainment value.
