Please Sir

One mine & the Missus' favourites along with To Sir With Love (which, supposedly, gave inspiration for the series)What I am trying to find out is where the filming locations were. Although the story is about a South London School, they filmed the series at least all over the place and in particular at my old school in North London, but in the movie, its hard to work out exactly where they were, in particular the school? Does anyone know? Are the locations still there? Any help appreciated, many thanks, Ken

Hi Ken, I'm currently researching locations for this film but haven't had a lot of success yet. However, the opening scene where the kids bring the traffic to a halt on the pedestrian crossing was filmed at the junction of Chalcot Road and Fitzroy Road, London NW1. I visited the location in January and found that it was still recognisable - the names of the businesses have changed but you can still make out the buildings and streets. Hope this is of interest. By the way, where was the school in the series? Many thanks,

Found another location late last year - one of the opening scenes when Maureen is walking along and meets up with Dennis was filmed on Hillside, NW10. The shops they walk past and then go into are gone, but you can still see the curve of the road in the background and the little side street (Wesley Road) where the bookies is on the corner.

I was interested where some of the scenes were shot, so thanks for the info on locations thegeniegenie!

Would love to know which school they used for the film version.

I know they used Black Park in Iver Heath for the campsite.
