He really doesn't help himself doesn't he?

Dedicate a song to a stalker... then he takes care of his stalker at his home and doesn't get her to hospital... -_-' No police intervention either up until that point. I know this was 1971 but no one can be that naive.

I saw this as a kid in 1971 and enjoyed it. Now that I'm older I see what you see. But, it is still a great film.

Agree it's a great film. I eventually ranked it a 7.6, especially liked the ending. I was just watching this last night and I was amazed to see how after I had posted this message he just went into even more naivety than before. Oh, my stalker just nearly killed my maid... and she's out of the psych ward. Sure, why not?

reply

It's not due to being 1971. We wouldn't have a plot otherwise; the film would be over in 20 mins. Dave is not naive; he stayed with her after she attempted suicide. And if Dave was more forceful, some posters would accuse him of being heartless and without compassion. It must be whether the stalker/psycho is a man or woman, as usual.

People were no more naive in 1971 than they are today.
