Anyone know anything more about this film?

Like how was this preserved -- who was responsible for the print that survived? Is the original film as scratched and dusty? It looks like some footage may be repurposed stock from another project, though it's hard to tell. Was this shown anywhere? Wikipedia says it was released without James Bigood's consent, which is why it's credited to Anonymous. Apparently Pink Narcissus achieved some degree of notoriety by the 1980s, I guess due to the mystery of its creator.

I wish there was a little more history known. This guy worked on this amazing passion project, went without credit for years, and never really did anything else.
