This Or Requeim For A Dream?

I absolutely love Requiem, is Panic similar? What are the differences between the 2? And in yalls opinion which is the overall better film? (I've never seen panic by the way.)

I'm watching it right now(got from library), but one movie that blew my mind is Christiane F--if you can find that one, it's amazing and true!

I have not failed, I've found 10,000 ways that won't work.

theyre both great but Requiem was executed with masterful direction, still I like them both!

I think Requiem is better just for the way it interweaves the different addicts' stories - older vs younger, street drugs vs prescriptions, male vs female, black vs white.

Each character comes to be an addict through different avenues but no one comes out unscathed.

I think that some people can detach themselves from the story being told in Panic (that could not happen to me) but everyone knows someone who could slip into addiction like at least one of the characters in Requiem.

Oh and the soundtrack of Requiem only adds to the experience.

"Requiem for a Dream" by far, but this is a very disturbing look at the subject of addiction as well. The two films would make a good double feature – for those who could handle four hours of this.

Panic is a much more accurate portrayal of heroin addiction. As an addict I didnt like Requiem.

thank u. as an addict, I hated requiem. altho, I despire it for its "decorating" direction. talk about attention grabbing direction. its not a bad movie, its a good films. its not a great film tho. the story is fine, just arronofskys pathetic attention grabbing, film school show off camera work. this is the art film for people who don't like art films, but they think this is edgy and artistic. I know this is a bit harsh, and all the idiot, 2 years into films school, think they know the difference between great direction and obviously flashy "decorating" goons will reply with grand hate. fans of this film will fight about its greatness blindly to no end.

Ablast had it right. Requiem is great... Panic is great(er?)... but Christiane F. is one of the greatest films ever made, and hands down the best depiction of addiction.

How do you wake up from a nightmare, if you're not asleep?

if your going to compare doesn't it make more sense to compare requiem to panic? panic came out way before requiem i'd go with panic addiction is more effectively portrayed by professionals. The actors in requiem don't/cant match the actors in panic.
