Is this available on DVD in widescreen?

I have this movie in 16mm on 3 reels but would like the DVD version- but not if they are going to butcher it by cropping it to fill the TV screen. Is there a widescrren DVD version?

So I take it the original aspect ratio for the theatrical release was widescreen of at least 1.66:1 or 1.78/1.85:1?

I would absolutely love to see a nice anamorphic widescreen version of this. Just the thing to watch on those cold snowy winter nights :)

If anybody knows about an anamorphic widescreen version of this, please post here!

This movie was not shot in widescreen. 1.33:1 is the correct aspect ratio.

I stand corrected- after taking a second look the 16mm ration is nearly 4:3, and the cropping on the dvd version is slight.
