'Revenge from Planet Ape' question.

Now, before you ask, yes I am aware that this has nothing to do with Planet of the Apes and is its own series about blind undead knight templars.

But now that we've got that out of the way, I have a question about the Planet of the Apes cash in version. Now, Wikipedia says that the US distributors almost went that route, but changed their minds and decided to adapt the original script. But now I see that IMDB says in the trivia that they actually went through with this idea and even have a tagline for it.

Now, did the US Distributors actually release the Planet of the Apes cash in version of this movie or not? If so is there an actual legitimate accurate English adaptation of this movie that has been released? These conflicting statements really just puzzle me.

Why did they think that re-dubbing a zombie movie into a 'Planet Of The Apes' sequel would be a good idea? The mind boggles!

I see a deleted post here, so maybe someone already responded, but the answer is yes, this did play US theaters as "Revenge from Planet Ape", but only after it had already appeared as simply "The Blind Dead". I think the "almost" they were referring to in the article was the fact that the distributors wanted to actually film more footage to make the "Planet of the Apes" connection more credible. In the end they decided to just do an opening narration and remove the part in the movie that explains the Templar Knights. That's all they did. I don't think it played very many cities as "Revenge From Planet Ape", it was much more well known as "The Blind Dead".
