I couldn't believe the nerve of the U.S. distributors for trying to palm this off as a 'Planet Of The Apes' type sequel by re-editing it and changing the title.
The opening scene of the re-titled 'Revenge From Planet Ape' sequence from the DVD was hilarious.
A+ for ingenuity.
How does this work, haven't had time to watch it yet ?

The blind dead are supposed to be the resurrected apes in this version.
Pretty stupid and I assume the knights' flashback scenes have been removed.
This was pretty unbelievable, wasn't it? It just goes to show how distributors would do anything to cash in back in the day. (Laugh) However, I have to admit that it does have a cheesy comic appeal to it.
shareHahahaha. "Revenge From Planet Ape" was the free midnight movie at <a href="http://www.alamodrafthouse">the Alamo Drafthouse</a> here in Austin last night. Having never seen Tombs of the Blind Dead before, I will have to say that seeing the Aped up version of the movie adds an incredibly confusing twist to the plot.
Did distributors really think audiences were that stupid back then?
Anyway, today's US distributors are pretty much the same except they are resorting to constant remakes and sequels.
Lol crazy...mind you it does need something to spice it up its a horrendously slow movie.
