I thought the music was one of the things that improved over the first film. Although some of the music was the same some was different as well and I found it absolutely amazing. It did a great job at contributing to the spooky atmosphere. Other than that, both films are equally excellent and neither is better or worse than the other. Both get 10/10 for me.
